AIR CHOICE ONE CONTINUES TO SEE PASSENGER GROWTH IN FORT DODGE, IOWA
St. Louis, MO: August 31, 2018 – Air Choice One, a St. Louis-based regional airline, continues its growth in passenger counts at Fort Dodge Regional Airport with its recent announcement that the carrier has set a monthly record for July, 2018. Airline officials report 1382 total passengers flew out of Fort Dodge in July, which is a 12% increase over the same month in 2017. This represents an average of 24 passengers per day traveling on Air Choice One, a rate which allowed Ft. Dodge to qualify for its DOT waiver for the Essential Air Service program.
“When Air Choice One established service in Fort Dodge in early 2015, we were faced with an average of 8 passengers per day who were choosing air travel and high per passenger subsidies” said Shane Storz, CEO of Air Choice One. “By 2016, we had dramatically increased enplanements and today, we’re pleased to announce that people are flying in and out of Ft. Dodge in record numbers.”
Air Choice One provides flights from Fort Dodge to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport via Mason City and direct flights to St. Louis, and to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The St. Louis, Minneapolis and Chicago hubs allow for connections to virtually anywhere in the world.
“From day one, we’ve focused on partnering with the community, not only giving residents of Fort Dodge convenient access to air travel with reliable, on-time performance, but also providing support on the ground, being present when called upon to serve,” said Storz. “Travelers and community members know they can count on us, and that’s built a relationship of trust that we’re very proud of and will continue to work hard on.”
This announcement on passenger numbers follows on the heels of other recent developments from Air Choice One, including the shift of a weekly flight to St. Louis due to passenger demand. The airline’s on-time and completion rates in Fort Dodge remain high, with on-time departures of 93.5%, higher than the industry average, and completion factor of 98%. Passenger subsidies under the EAS program have also fallen dramatically under Air Choice One’s leadership, a direct result of increasing passenger counts.
